The Crosse Foundation initiates Kicks for Sticks 5K and Fun Run fundraiser on January 8, 2012

The Crosse Foundation, charitable organization of the Jacksonville Bullies professional indoor lacrosse team, holds its inaugural fundraising event, the Kicks for Sticks 5K Run and Fun Run, on Sunday, January 8, 2012, to advance the sport of lacrosse in northeast Florida and other activities that benefit the community.


Jacksonville, Florida, United States., December 25, 2011 - (PressReleasePoint) - The Crosse Foundation, charitable organization of the Jacksonville Bullies professional indoor lacrosse team, invites runners to participate in the inaugural Kicks for Sticks 5K Run and 1 mile Fun Run, starting at 9 a.m., Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Jacksonville Landing, in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. This event will be an annual Crosse Foundation fundraiser, from which all proceeds are donated to the Lighthouse Lacrosse Foundation, a nonprofit agency that advances and supports the sport of lacrosse in northeast Florida and other activities that benefit the community.

“We use lacrosse to help our local youth learn about sportsmanship, teamwork and to open doors for some of our young people to receive college scholarships, and the 5K is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said foundation spokesperson Brianne Toole.

Winning contestant of the NBC Reality Show “The Biggest Loser“ Season 11, Olivia Ward, will be running in the event with her sister and "Biggest Loser" Contestant Hannah Curlee, and both ladies will be on hand to meet and greet participants before and after the run. The Kicks for Sticks 5K begins at 9 a.m., followed by a Kicks for Sticks Fun Run at 9:05 a.m. The Jacksonville Bullies professional indoor lacrosse team players and the Jacksonville Bullies Dance Team - The Jacksonville Belles, will also attend, with food, vendors and live music available as part of the event.
