Kicking off in Croydon on 25th July, the University of the West Indies Choir (UWI Singers) will be performing at venues in Croydon, Camden, Manchester and more. As part of their first UK tour in over 10 .

Jamaica National Bank in association with the Jamaican Tourism Board are bringing the University of the West Choir to the UK and Germany for what is sure to be a sold out tour.

The University Singers are a much loved and respected group in Jamaica. Their support on the island starts at grassroots with the everyday man and flies as high as the Jamaican Tourism Board. The Jamaican population is immensely proud of their University Singers so - more than a decade since their last visit in 1997 – it is with pride that they will wave them off as they embark on their second UK tour.
The University Singers’ talents have not gone unnoticed and have in fact won them many prestigious awards in the Caribbean; the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in 2003, and four Jamaica Music Industry (Awards) but to name a few. They’ve also represented the West Indies before some of the most notable figures in history. President Nelson Mandela, Kofi Anan, Desmond Tutu and Queen Elizabeth II have all enjoyed the sounds of the University Singers. In 1995 the group also had the opportunity to perform for a global audience with an appearance on NBC TV’s popular The Today Show.

The tour is sponsored by British Airways, Jamaica National Bank, the Association of Jamaican nationals and many others. The entire Jamaican Diaspora will be supporting this tour to highlight the positive contribution that Jamaican culture makes to the world.
