CUBE EVOLUTION CHOOSES SOURCEGUARDIAN
TO PROTECT ITS SOFTWARE

NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, UK – June 5th, 2008 – SourceGuardian, an encryption product developed in-house by Newcastle-based Inovica Ltd., keeps Cube Evolution’s Web Content Management System from falling into the wrong hands. When Cube Evolution created its CMS software, CEO John Dudley realized the product was vulnerable to programming theft.

Any customer who purchased the system could easily see the source code and take any of the programming language. Customers could also make changes to the code that could potentially cause the product to malfunction, which could have resulted in the company’s support department becoming overwhelmed with calls.

After evaluating available encoding solutions, Cube Evolution chose SourceGuardian, which provided the company with a solution that protects its CMS software from both theft and alteration. “SourceGuardian has reassured me that my current and future ideas are safe from prying eyes, but also can be correctly licensed,” Dudley says. “It also provides me with the option of producing demonstration software, safe in the knowledge that it will only work for the specified time.”

The SourceGuardian Encryption Software won a North East UK Export Award in 2004 for Inovica Ltd., which was founded in 1994 by Internet entrepreneur Adrian Teasdale. “The software is now used by thousands of professional web developers, programmers and companies worldwide,” Teasdale says. “We also offer unlimited technical support, free minor updates, full native bytecode encoding and runs under Linux, FreeBSD, Windows and Mac OS X.”

SourceGuardian has allowed Cube Evolution to continue to grow. “The product is expanding as I add new features,” Dudley said, “and I will be releasing an update in the near future.”
