For Immediate Release
Blacksburg, VA. – The Information and Documentation Center of the Cultural Studies and Resource Centre (CERC) has become the latest Virtua SaaS customer. Virtua SaaS and the Chamo Social OPAC will be implemented, with the system hosted and managed by VTLS Europe. In the initial phase of the project VTLS will convert and update the library records from CATMARC to MARC21 and load them into the Virtua database.
The CERC is one of several specialized institutions in Barcelona to take advantage of the convenience and ease of implementation of software as a service with Virtua SaaS. “The Centre d’Informació i Documentació is pleased to implement Virtua as its integrated library system. We hope that this new collaboration brings along great results for both institutions,” said Roser Mendoza, head of Unit of the Information and Documentation Center.
“VTLS is delighted to be associated with this important library serving the needs of intellectuals and researchers in the field of culture. We look forward to many years of providing support to the staff and members of this special community,” said Jack Bazuzi, Managing Director of VTLS Europe.
“CERC is joining the growing community of libraries, museums and documentation centers that are selecting SaaS as the preferred option for their local automation needs,” said Vinod Chachra President of VTLS Inc. “This trend towards SaaS is bringing substantial savings to the institutions while maintaining a high quality of service, increased reliability and ease of use for staff and users alike.”
