Local search engine positioning company to participate in MediaFest 2010. The event will focus on social media and online marketing for Hampton Roads businesses.

Hampton Roads, VA – Feb. 9, 2010 –Virginia Beach-based search engine optimization (SEO) firm Customer Magnetism has announced sponsorship and participation in the MediaFest trade show on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010. The event will take place at the Sheraton Waterside Norfolk Hotel from 5 - 9 p.m.

“The trade show features a number of unique approaches to marketing and media outlets,” said Nicole Newsome, director of public relations for Customer Magnetism. “This is a great opportunity for area businesses to network with each other and learn more about what other local companies have to offer. We can work together to make Hampton Roads a stronger force in commerce.”

The effort is organized by the Retail Alliance, an association of retailers hoping to spotlight advertising, marketing and media professionals and what they have to offer the Hampton Roads community.

“Customer Magnetism is excited about being a part of the event,” said Newsome. “We want to be more involved with local projects, and this is a great way to move forward in that endeavor. We want to teach people more about Internet marketing and how it can help their businesses flourish.”

On the agenda are two seminars. The first will be “The Power of Email Marketing, Online Survey and Event Marketing for Retail Businesses,” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This will highlight the need for active marketing to reach potential customers and give quick tips for successful advertising.

The second seminar, “Social Media” will focus on the use of Facebook, Twitter, Flikr and other social media resources and how they can benefit Hampton Roads businesses. Food and other entertainment will also be available.
