_MG_1818 vignette.jpgCONVIVIAL SIDE has developed a new generation of multimedia station for the home, called CONVIVIAL OUTSIDE®. This consumer electronic device is redefining the relationship between technology and owner. This system is comprised of an HDMI wireless receiver, which is installed behind the user's display, and a central wireless multimedia station (desktop computer). The elimination of wires between the computer and display allows the box to be placed anywhere in a room and perfectly blend with the decor. CONVIVIAL SIDE is looking to distribute its products in North America and will be exhibiting at the ARTEFACTO booth at Wanted Design in New York from May 14 to 17, 2011.

Strong on three core business values - simplicity, fun and esthetics - CONVIVIAL OUTSIDE® finally allows a harmonious integration in the home. Thanks to a simple patented system of exchangeable skins in a wide selection of wood and metallic veneers, the user can change the device's look at will. Compact, efficient and sleek, CONVIVIAL OUTSIDE® can satisfy both the technophile man and the interior design-conscious woman. Esthetics is the cornerstone idea of this innovative product.

The device is wireless, even the HDMI connection to a screen or television, with the exception of the power cord. To receive the high-definition video audio signal, a small receiver must be connected on a flat screen or overhead projector. Connect the HDMI cable to the receiver and to the entrance of the display, add the Y cable sector to the main power supply of the screen or overhead projector, and finally, connect the sector on the receiver and display.

Technically speaking, CONVIVIAL SIDE rethought the design of the computer by breaking it down into three independent subsystems: processing (processor, motherboard, power supply, etc.), data (hard drives) and thermal (fans, radiators). By separating these systems, it became easy to upgrade the computer by changing only the necessary components. Personal data are preserved in case the system needs to be changed, and the storage capacity can be easily modified. The whole system is thus more efficient. It's smaller and runs quieter than traditional desktop computers. The system runs on Windows 7 and can connect to a local server to access media on a home computer.

CONVIVIAL SIDE is the first company in the world to create an electronics housing system this compact while still integrating all industry standard components.
