Cycling Australia extends it’s sympathies to the family and friends of of three and passionate cycling safety advocate Cameron Frewer.

Frewer was tragically killed by a car on Monday morning. Cycling Australia will not comment on the details of his death and allow the authorities to do their job at this time.

Cycling Australia once again calls on federal and state governments to improve the safety of all riders around the country and call for real driver education, national minimum passing distances and their enforcement.

Concerted and urgent action is required to address the alarming increase in serious injuries and deaths of cyclists over the last nine years.

These preventable deaths and life-altering injuries on Australia’s roads must stop.

About Cameron Frewer’s work

Mr Frewer was the founder of advocacy Facebook page, Drive Safe, Pass Wide. A passionate cyclist, husband and father of three, Mr Frewer worked tirelessly to educate drivers and riders about road safety.
