BROOKINGS, S.D. – Mar. 8, 2013 – When Army hockey fans head to Tate Rink in West Point, N.Y., they will get a view of the new LED video display system designed, manufactured and installed by Daktronics (Nasdaq – DAKT) of Brookings, S.D. The United States Military Academy partnered with Daktronics for the new main video display and two additional message displays to help enhance the Army hockey game-day experience.

“We have some of the best fans in college hockey and this will certainly enhance their experience at Tate Rink,” said Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Boo Corrigan. “From replays to video features, this will change the way fans experience Army Hockey and we are excited to showcase this great addition.”

The main display mounted on the wall at one end of the rink features 10 millimeter line spacing and measures approximately 12.5 feet high by 23 feet wide. It incorporates excellent image clarity and contrast, and it is capable of showing one large image to highlight live video and instant replays. It can also be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, scoring information and sponsor advertisements. Its wide angle viewing capabilities ensure every seat will have a great view.

The installation also includes an update the existing centerhung structure with two new indoor LED message center displays, each featuring 20mm line spacing and measuring 2 feet tall by 10 feet wide. These displays will provide the opportunity to showcase sponsors throughout events and provide up-to-the-minute statistics and game information.

“Daktronics is very pleased to again partner with Army on this impressive upgrade at Tate Rink,” said Scott Willson, Daktronics Sales Representative. “The athletic facilities at West Point are among the best in the nation and we’re proud to play a small part by bringing our world-class LED technology into the venue. The fans, sponsors and student athletes will be blown away by the new displays.”

The Creative Services team at Daktronics will be providing a content package to help bring the display to life and get the crowd engaged in the action.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
