Dallas, TX, March 22, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) - The Dallas Chamber Symphony will host the Wyeth Quartet in recital on Tuesday, March 26 at the newly opened City Performance Hall. Comprised of principal players of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, the Wyeth Quartet has thrilled audiences of all ages with its virtuosic and energetic performances of classical and contemporary chamber music. Critics say that the Wyeth String Quartet’s performances are “stellar”, “breathtaking”, and “how chamber music should always be played”.
Michael Shih, concertmaster of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra leads the ensemble. Additional members include Adriana Voirin DeCosta (violin), Laura Bruton (viola) and Leda Dawn Larson (cello). The program features both traditional string quartets, and the modern and “evanescent” “Psalom” and “Summa” by Estonian composer, Arvo Pärt – whose works are inspired by sacred music of the Italian Renaissance.

The event will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at City Performance Hall (2520 Flora Street, Dallas, Texas 75201). The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.

About Dallas Chamber Symphony:
Launched in September 2012, the Dallas Chamber Symphony is the newest professional performance ensemble in North Texas. Led by Artistic Director and Conductor Richard McKay, it is comprised of close to 40 musicians, all dedicated to building a chamber orchestra whose mission is to perform a balance of programs that include underrepresented and standard repertory, contemporary music, staged works, and pieces with extra-musical elements, such as film, actors, dancers, and narrators. The DCS performs at the state-of-the-art Dallas City Performance Hall in the Dallas Arts District. The DCS also provides educational and community programming, including an International Piano Competition at SMU, a free App for iPhone and iPad and free pre-concert conversations.
