Dartmouth Golf & Country Club Is Hailed By World's Largest Travel Website

Dartmouth Golf & Country Club has been recognised as among the top five per cent of accommodation providers by TripAdvisor.com, the world's largest travel review website.

The delightful Devon resort has been accorded TripAdvisor’s certificate of excellence, which honours top-rated accommodation, restaurants and attractions worldwide. To qualify, recipients must maintain an average rating of four or more out of a possible five points as reviewed by independent travellers on the website.

And only five per cent of such businesses listed on the site worldwide have been afforded the status – a fact not lost on Dan Chidley, Dartmouth Golf & Country Club’s sales and marketing manager.

He said: “TripAdvisor uses a sophisticated method to calculate overall ratings to ensure that a venue with just one or two high ratings can’t cheat the system; so to be ranked in the top five per cent of businesses on such a prestigious site is a huge fillip for us and testament to the hard work put in by everybody here to ensure the visitor experience is always one to remember.

“The reviews on TripAdvisor are from genuine independent travellers so we are delighted to have been awarded the certificate of excellence, which we will place alongside the various other awards we have received in recent years. Situated in 225 acres of south Devon countryside, just outside the beautiful town from which it takes its name, Dartmouth Golf & Country Club boasts 27 holes of golf with the 18 hole Championship Course and nine-hole Dartmouth Golf Course complementing each other nicely.

Previously ranked in the top 80 courses in the UK and Ireland by Golf Monthly the Championship Course was designed to challenge the most proficient golfer, with strategic positioning of tees, meandering streams, 12 water features and undulating greens. But while it makes the better players think, it is not so punitive as to spoil a round for high-handicappers and provides an excellent and enjoyable challenge to golfers of all abilities.

Although only a nine-hole layout, the Dartmouth is built to the same high standards as its sister course. Measuring 2,252 yards with a par of 33, it is guaranteed to test players while they enjoy a more relaxed round.
