DataPath® Receives $35 Million Order to Supply Ka Band Equipment for U.S. Army JNN/WIN-T Terminals

DataPath Continues to Deliver Mission-Critical Ka Band Capability That Enables Battlefield Tactical SATCOM Terminals to Operate Over the WGS System

Duluth, Ga. – March 31, 2009 –DataPath, Inc., a leading provider of satellite and wireless communications networks around the world, has been awarded $35 million by the U.S. Army for Ka band spares kits for DataPath® Satellite Transportable Terminals (STTs).  The order is part of DataPath’s effort with the U.S. Army to enable deployed satellite communications (SATCOM) terminals to operate in Ka band over the recently launched Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) system in addition to operating in commercial Ku band.

This $35 million order is funded from exercised options on an existing delivery order, which is a four-year agreement with the Army that has a potential value of up to $225 million for DataPath.  Since January 2009, DataPath has been awarded a total of approximately $147 million under this delivery order.

The SATCOM terminals being converted were designed and built by DataPath and deployed by the U.S. Army for the Joint Network Node (JNN)/Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) program. DataPath’s Ka band solution for JNN/WIN-T has been certified by the U.S. Army Strategic Command for use on the WGS system.
