Engineering Document Management improves the decisiveness of employees and increases project insight

Heerlen, Netherlands., November 17, 2011 - (PressReleasePoint) - Cadac Organice, a Microsoft Gold ISV Partner, has implemented its SharePoint-based solution for Engineering Document Management at Dekker Holding. The solution improves the decisiveness of employees and increases project insight.

Dekker Holding Krabbendam is an innovative and leading construction company with three divisions: construction company K. Dekker, construction company De Bie & Seignette, and construction company Dekker Bouw Bergen. Among others Dekker Holding is a specialist in concrete works, both above and below water level. Recent projects include concrete works and foundations for wind turbines on land and in the water. In addition they offer a unique combination of building & construction expertise and civil engineering expertise within one and the same company, which is often an advantage in project tenders.

The reason for implementing a document management solution arose several years ago as a result of the famous G-drive. All documents, around 400 per project at that time, were kept in files or on the G-drive. The total number of documents continued to grow and retrieval of information became increasingly difficult. Siem Stam, Manager P&O/ICT: “we went looking for a future-proof product and chose Microsoft SharePoint. In addition we went looking for a supplier who was able to implement SharePoint in a construction company. Cadac Organice BNL BV not only provided the necessary expertise, but their solution also delivered added value on SharePoint.”

The greatest benefit of Cadac Organice for Dekker Holding is easily retrieving documents. Siem Stam: “without project knowledge I am able to retrieve the right document from 5000 documents. We recently had a difference of opinion with our client where we were able to easily retrieve an important piece of evidence in the discussion. The traceability and availability of documents is very important to us. The decisiveness of employees and the project insight has increased substantially.”
