Denso to Exhibit at 64th Iaa in Frankfurt, Germany
Date: 09/07/2011
— Connecting Drivers, Vehicles and Society—
KARIYA (Japan) ―DENSO Corporation will exhibit at the 64th IAA (Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung) Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany, on Sept. 15-25, 2011. DENSO will introduce its latest technologies and products that will support the theme; “Connecting Drivers, Vehicles and the Society.”
DENSO’s main exhibit “Resonance 2021” is a vehicle cockpit simulator designed for the automotive society in 2021. By connecting drivers, vehicles and the society, the simulator showcases the following functions that drivers want and expect, while ensuring safety.
1. Active Steering Wheel System
Monitors the risk of contact or collision between cars using vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication. When the system detects an imminent collision, the steering wheel vibrates to alert the driver of the situation and also automatically takes controls of the steering wheel to help the driver stay safe when needed.
2. Smart Map Monitor System
Designed to ease traffic congestion and make driving more convenient and comfortable by informing the driver of real-time road conditions and changing traffic hazards using cloud networking.
3. Information Guide System
Connects with the driver’s personal computer and/or Smartphone to analyze the driver’s preferences, and proposes a preferred type of shop or restaurant to the driver when visiting new places.
DENSO also will display other “connecting” technologies, such as its remote touch controller, sensing system, infrastructure cooperative system and Smartphone connectivity technology.
Also, DENSO will exhibit its new starter, Tandem Solenoid starter, for stop/start systems, and technologies for hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles such as its inverter, battery monitoring unit and electric compressor.
