24th March, 2011- Digital signage and retail media specialist Digital View has launched its own brand of 2GB & 8GB compact flash memory cards - especially optimized for use in their ViewStream digital media players and VideoFlyer digital signage display products.

Compact flash ‘solid state’ memory cards are used to store high quality video content in many digital signage media players. Solid state memory offers higher reliability and longer lifetime than traditional hard disk drive or DVD-based systems (which have to spin the disks, thereby requiring additional power and control) and higher quality long term performance than tape-based systems (which wear out over time).

Digital View has long advocated the reliability benefits of Compact Flash Memory and its ViewStream media players and its VideoFlyer all-in-one signage displays have been built around solid state principles since the beginning.  With a 3 year standard warranty on all their media electronics and over 150,000 digital signage systems sold, quality and reliability are a central and essential focus for the company.

The past few years has seen a proliferation in compact flash memory suppliers and whilst this has brought great cost benefits, the range in quality and performance between these different cards has left customers with something of a selection lottery.
