DigitalPersona to Speak On Fingerprint Biometrics for Retailers and Restaurants At RSPA RetailNOW 2009 Conference and Expo

WHAT:DigitalPersona Vice President of Marketing, Jim Fulton, will speak at the Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA) RetailNOW 2009 Conference and Expo, where he will provide attendees with an in-depth understanding of how retailers and restaurateurs can utilize biometrics with Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals to proactively combat payroll fraud and cash register shrink. Fulton’s session, “Biometrics & POS: Solution To Stop Payroll Fraud & Shrink,” will discuss how fingerprint authentication can be integrated into POS terminals to provide a natural security interface, linking transactions to individuals for better control and monitoring. Fingerprint biometrics is already used by retailers to dramatically reduce false voids and manager overrides as well as to simplify compliance with regulations like the Payment Card Industry (PCI) standard and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX). Fulton will leverage his experience working closely with retailers and restaurants, Meijer, Smart & Final, Chili’s and Wendy’s, and POS solution providers Posiflex, IBM, NCR, ELO, Micros, Touch Dynamic and Panasonic, to address the issues facing retail professionals today.
