Digitaria Chief Creative Daiga Atvara is Digital/Mobile Clio Judge
Latest Honor for 2012 AdAge Woman to Watch, OMMA All-Star, Business Insider Top Creative
SAN DIEGO (January 24, 2013) - Daiga Atvara, Chief Experience Office and Executive Creative Director for Digitaria, a JWT Company, has been selected as a member of the 2013 Clio Jury, judging the Digital/Mobile/Digital Technique category.
The honor comes the same week Ms. Atvara was named one of the "Most Creative Women" in Advertising by Business Insider. It caps a stellar year for the digital marketing and technology agency's co-founder, who was also named a 2012 Advertising Age Woman to Watch and OMMA magazine Digital Creative All-Star in the past 12 months.
"I am both honored and humbled to be chosen as a judge for the 2013 Clios," said Ms. Atvara. "I look forward to discovering some of the best work from the top talent in our industry, and I embrace the responsibility that comes with it."
A native of Latvia, Ms. Atvara co-founded Digitaria with Chief Executive Officer Daniel Khabie in 1997, a few years after an artistic scholarship brought her to America and California. Her design skills led her to the fledgling world of digital design and San Diego, where she met Khabie, a like-minded digital pioneer who also saw much potential in the new world of the internet and interactive marketing. In the 15 years since, she has worked with clients including Qualcomm, NBC/Universal, the NFL, Under Armour, DreamWorks, Rolex, Petco and Invisible Children.
During that period, the agency has grown from a boutique San Diego shop with six employees to a national powerhouse, with over 250 employees and offices in Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. The turning point for the agency was its 2006 merger with Console, a small San Diego county technology company, which brought current COO/President Doug Hecht and CTO Chuck Phillips into the fold. The melding of the two companies brought Digitaria the power to bring its creative team's ideas to physical life.
Digitaria was acquired by WPP in 2010 and made part of the JWT network soon thereafter.
