DirectRooms.com - Auckland announces to attend the Grey Lynn Park Festival 2011 this November

DirectRooms.com confirms that the 2011 Grey Lynn Park festival will be held this year on Saturday 19th November from 9am until 6pm.

This annual event caters for all ages and families are especially welcome. The festival was first established in 1987 and has received extensive national and international press coverage over the years. Entrance to the Festival is free.
 
Events taking place this year range from mobile blacksmiths to a funfair, and many activities are devoted to New Zealand art and culture, including Maori weaving. Many local community groups and clubs use the Festival as a method of raising their profile as well as to raise funds for their own specific organisations.
 
Auckland City Council, Storage King, Grey Lynn Park Festival Trust Board and ASB Community Trust currently sponsor the Festival, but the list of sponsors could expand further. Both History Alive and the Rotary Club will have stalls at this year’s Festival, as well as the jugglers and unicyclists from Circus Cirkool.
 
Grey Lynn Park is three kilometres to the west of Auckland City Centre and the festival can attract up to 100,00 visitors. Due to this popularity, those wishing to take part in the Festival and attend all the fun and games are advised to book a room at one of the many hotels in Auckland City Centre. Transport links between Auckland centre and Grey Lynn are good and the park is close to the CBD.
