Indian IT companies that provide remote infrastructure management outsourcing (RIMO) are targeting big clients to compete against the traditional infrastructure outsourcing (IO) firms. This is the result of a study conducted by Everest Research Institute.

Indian players are getting attracted by the RIMO segment because it's a growing segment. Till 2007, it grew at a CAGR of 66 percent and in 2008 it grew at a CAGR of 18 percent despite the economic downturn. That is why IT vendors are signing big contracts with large multinational players for growth sustainability. To provide infrastructure offshoring, their business model includes longer deal horizons, highly complex SLA-driven metrics and complex pricing mechanisms.
