The Dominion Post signs with Miles 33 for digital content management and advertising system
System will modernize the entire publishing operation, covering Editorial Content Management, Web publishing, Mobile publishing and Advertising management.
September 2012, Norwalk, CT – Miles 33 is proud to announce that The Dominion Post in Morgantown West Virginia has entered into an agreement to replace all their legacy publishing systems.
The new Miles 33 system is a total solution, covering digital, mobile and print and will be used for editorial, advertising and web. A total solution, from a single vendor, was extremely attractive to the Dominion Post who has a strategic objective to modernize their publishing activities to include new digital channels and new revenue streams.
The new system, which replaces an older SII system, will include FutureProof for advertising management, the SAM AdPortal for self service, CMS3000 for billing and accounts receivables, GN4 for editorial content management, TARK4 for archiving, GNWeb for integrated web publishing, and GNXpedio, a four-screen mobile news and advertising strategy including iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, desktop and TV.
“We have always been very happy with the support we received from Miles 33 for our SII system and are excited to extend our partnership into the next era of digital publishing” said Chris Halterman, Director of Operations at The Dominion Post.
The paper plays a key role in the local community and the nearby West Virginia University, providing news not only to local readers but to the university’s alumni who like to stay abreast of activities from the region. The Dominion Post has been publishing online since 1996 and moved to a subscription-based web presence in 2005. Managing a successful online news channel was essential in the decision for the Miles 33 solution and the new system will let the newspaper extend its reach into the rapidly growing mobile market, driven largely by a large, young, college town community.
The already popular online advertising functions will be strengthened with a new self service portal, adding more convenience to local and remote readers and advertisers, while at the same time increasing ad volumes; and delivering ads to the new four-screen mobile strategy will represent several new lines of revenues for the Company.
Tying all advertising revenues together will be accomplished with the CMS3000 system that will not only provide A/R and credit management functions, but will be able to produce single invoices to multi-channel buyers, making it easier for customers to purchase bundled ad packages while reducing administrative overheads for the paper itself.
