This DTMF software is an implementation of a Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) generator and decoder.

Toronto, Canada - GAO Research Inc. is offering its dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) software for telephone systems. It is widely used in interactive control applications such as telephone banking, electronic mail systems, and many other menu-driven operations that respond to digits entered from a telephone.
This DTMF software is an implementation of a Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) generator and decoder. The DTMF generator and decoder consist of four user-callable functions that perform the generating, decoding, and initialization operations. The DTMF generator generates standard telephone digits as the sum of sinusoids corresponding to a frequency table for each digit. The DTMF decoder will take a digital signal as input and produce the decoded digit.
The DTMF software generates and decodes 8 kHz PCM samples. It is fully compliant to EIA / TIA - 464B 6.1.4 and 6.1.5 .1 to 6.1.5.5 standards. It also features low data and program memory requirements.
This dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) software belongs to GAO’s family of Telephony Software. This line includes a wide variety of telephony modules such as Call Progress (CP) software which provides full call progress tone detection and generation functionality and operates on PCM samples, Acoustic Echo Cancellation Software (AEC) and MF R1/R2 software. The software packages can be used for feature phones, Internet phones, multi-channel computer telephony boards, soft PBXs and Voice over IP.
