Duke Realty Ranked 12th among Healthiest 100 Workplaces in the Country

Ranking by Healthiest Employers includes employers of all sizes, regions and industries.

(Indianapolis, Ind. – Feb. 18, 2014) Duke Realty Corporation (Duke Realty), a leading nationwide REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) specializing in the ownership, management and development of bulk industrial facilities, medical office properties and suburban office buildings, is ranked 12th in the country on the Healthiest 100 Workplaces list, a ranking compiled by Healthiest Employers, an independent corporate wellness research and data analysis firm headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind.

Duke realty has integrated wellness initiatives and practices throughout its organization which includes 16 satellite offices in addition to its corporate headquarters in Indianapolis. In addition to a corporate Wellness Council composed of associates from around the country, each office has a local committee that promotes wellness through activities and competitions. In 2013, 84 percent of Duke Realty associates participated in the company’s wellness program. Throughout the year, Duke Realty received 13 different wellness awards in addition to its 12th place ranking in Healthiest 100 Workplaces.

To be considered for the Healthiest Employer ranking, employers voluntarily complete a Healthiest Employer Assessment. Semifinalists are chosen based on their scores in the Healthiest Employer Wellness Maturity Model, and then must then complete a six-part Strategic Wellness Assessment to be considered for final selection into the Healthiest 100 Workplaces. Companies chosen for the top 100 have comprehensively incorporated vital wellness policies, practices and programs in their workplaces and have demonstrated strategic thought leadership and vision in developing their wellness initiatives.
