400 Families to Receive Food and Essentials

Los Angeles, Calif. (April 16, 2014) – On Thursday, April 17, Feed The Children and Each One Teach One will deliver one semi tractor-trailer full of food and essentials to 400 Los Angeles area children and families. The food and essentials will be distributed on Saturday, April 19, at 10 a.m. at The Salvation Army in Los Angeles (7651 S. Central Ave).

EOTO, Inc. is a long time Feed The Children supporter and is sponsoring the event. They have also pre-identified families receiving the boxes. Each family will receive a 25-pound box of food and a 10-pound box of personal care items. The boxes are designed to help a family of four for up to one week.

Nearly one in three children living in Los Angeles (34 percent) is considered impoverished. In fact, the number of children living in poverty in California (2,167,000) could fill the Rose Bowl Stadium more than 23 times.

We are so thankful to Each One Teach One and the Salvation Army for helping to provide food and essentials to children and their families,” said Erin Engelke, spokesperson for Feed The Children. "We hope people will help us put more trucks on the road and provide assistance for fellow Americans who are suffering through the current economic downturn.”
