Patents cover Distribution of IMS Software across Different Processors
Cupertino, March 18, 2014 – Ecrio, the leading provider of LTE real time communications client software, announced today the issuance by the US Patent and Trademark Office of two patents that cover communication device architecture targeting 3GPP standards-compliant IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) devices.
The patent, entitled "Real Time Communication Client Architecture", (US 8,639,253) was issued on January 28, 2014. The patented method covers the distributed architecture of IMS based software clients among Application and Modem Processors. The second patent, entitled “System, Method and Apparatus for Controlling Multiple Applications and Services on a Digital Electronic Device” (US 8,613,002)was issued on Dec 17, 2013. This patented method enables multiple IMS services to be active simultaneously using a single IMS Stack.
“The FlexIMS™ Architecture is a proven platform for Distributed IMS Client Software and we are pleased that the US Patent and Trademark Office has recognized this cutting-edge technology by issuing these patents,” said Michel Gannage, Founder and CEO of Ecrio. “Demand for Multi-Service Voice, Video and RCS Client functionality is growing rapidly and the FlexIMS™ Architecture is the most efficient way of implementing multiple IMS Services with a single IMS registration to the network.”
