EdgeCast and TELIN Partner on Indonesian Content Delivery

SANTA MONICA, CA – Mar. 13, 2013 – EdgeCast Networks, the world’s fastest and most reliable content delivery network (CDN), has entered into a partnership with PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (TELIN) to power a TELIN-operated Indonesian CDN.

The partnership will enable TELIN to offer CDN services to its enterprise customers and further expands the reach and capacity of EdgeCast’s global network, which now carries more than 4 percent of the world’s Internet traffic.

Under the partnership, TELIN will build a robust and well-distributed CDN within Indonesia using EdgeCast technology. The CDN will be directly connected to EdgeCast’s global network and also to users within the TELIN family of broadband and wireless service providers. This means that EdgeCast customers will have improved performance and reach within Indonesia. TELIN had traditionally worked with legacy and regional CDNs to establish caches to save money, but this move will enable TELIN to offer CDN services and leverage CDN as a source of new revenue.

TELIN selected EdgeCast because of the company’s leadership in the telco CDN space, as well as the network’s performance and features.

Additionally, TELIN plans to work with EdgeCast on incorporating other services, including Internet Protocol television (IPTV) and cloud hosting, into its CDN offerings.
