United Kingdom, November 2009 – Emerald Group Publishing Limited is delighted to announce that it has become a Knowledge Partner for Challenge:Future, a global student competition organized by the Central and East European Management Development Association (CEEMAN) in cooperation with IEDC-Bled School of Management and Third Millennium Knowledge, a sustainability laboratory from Slovenia. The competition aims to promote collaboration and innovation for the world’s sustainable future. Students from universities and schools in all countries are invited to apply online before 18 November 2009: http://www.challengefuture.org/us/entry-details
So far, 53 countries and 250 institutions are represented. Starting on 21 November, teams will compete on this year’s topic “The Future of Connecting”. In April, the 18 remaining finalist teams will travel to Bled, Slovenia, the world’s 5th most idyllic place according to Forbes, for the chance to win € 20,000.
Olga Veligurska, CEEMAN Coordinator and Head of Projects, explains: “Challenge:Future is an international youth competition that connects corporate and global challenges with the power of student-driven innovation. It differs from other competitions by being focused on sustainability and innovation issues rather than any specific discipline, allowing for a more creative and out-of-the-box approach from students and providing an opportunity for faculty to participate as mentors.”
“It is envisioned that Challenge:Future will become the world’s largest youth collaborative contest, creating a vital forum that connects creative young students, schools, mentors and innovative companies”.
John Peters, Emerald Chief Executive, comments: “We are all the more delighted to partner with CEEMAN for the Challenge:Future competition as this initiative fits perfectly with our ethos of supporting management education around the world and publishing innovative, rigorous and relevant research that encourages sustainability and global responsible leadership.”
Emerald joins a host of other prestigious institutions and organizations as official partner of Challenge:Future. Throughout the competition, participants will gain access to some of Emerald’s top management journals, specifically selected for their relevance with the Future of Connecting and its associated six sub-themes: http://www.challengefuture.org/challenges/
