New volume announced at International Business Ethics Conference, New York, USA – October 26 – 28, 2011

United Kingdom, October 2011 – Emerald Group Publishing is relaunching theResearch in Ethical Issues in Organizationsbook series after a four year hiatus. The next volume, to be published in 2012, was announced at the 18th Annual International Business Ethics Conference, hosted by St. John's University in New York, USA, from October 26-28, 2011.

This new volume, the first to be published by Emerald, will pay tribute to the late Patrick Primeaux, past editor and joint founder of the series, an outstanding teacher of business ethics and a long-time chair of the Theology Department at St. John’s University in New York City.

Under new editorship, Professor Michael Schwartz, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and Dr Howard Harris, University of South Australia, have taken over from the esteemed tenure of Professor Moses Pava. The series is also published in association with the Australian Association for Professional and Applied Ethics (AAPAE).

New Co-Editor Dr Harris comments: "The opportunity to relaunch this well-respected series is both a joy and a challenge. A joy in that a title which has contributed significantly to the discussion of ethics in organizations since 1999 will not slip away and an important channel of communication will not be lost; and a challenge to maintain the level of scholarship shown by the previous editors and contributors. That the first issue under our editorship will celebrate the contribution of Patrick Primeaux adds to the joy."

The series will continue to explore the central and unique role of organizational ethics in creating and sustaining a pluralistic, free enterprise economy, examining how profit seeking and not for profit organizations can be conceived and designed to satisfy legitimate human needs in an ethical and meaningful way.
