The number of chronic heart failure cases in the US will outpace China, Japan, and the major European markets over next decade, predicts healthcare industry experts GlobalData.
 
The company’s latest epidemiology report* forecasts that the prevalence of chronic heart failure in the US will increase from an estimated 6 million cases in 2012 to just under 9 million cases in 2022 for the population aged 45 years or older.
 
GlobalData’s new report states that although incidence of chronic heart failure in the US has been relatively constant over the last decade, its prevalence has been gradually increasing. In 2009, the American Heart Association estimated that 5.7 million people in the US are living with chronic heart failure.
