Epilepsy Foundation works for the cause of helping the Epilepsy affected people get information, diagnosis and free treatment in association with National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). The foundation recently launched a brand new website which allows users to get authentic information, connect with the doctors and help people volunteer to support the cause.
Mumbai 03-Jul-2014: (PressReleasePoint) Epilepsy Foundation India is operating as non-profit organization based out of Mumbai, India to help Epilepsy affected people access free diagnosis, treatment and social empowerment. The organization has treated more than 11,000 people through special camps organized across district towns in the State of Maharashtra. The Epilepsy camps are organized in association with National Rural Health Mission and supported by eminent doctors to facilitate right and timely treatment to the affected patients.
Dr. Nirmal Surya is the Founder and Chairman of the Epilepsy Foundation India. He lives with the vision of “Epilepsy is treatable if diagnosed early”.
On 1st July 2014, the foundation celebrated Doctor’s Day with a special training session organized for students of Nebraska University, Omaha, USA. These students have visited India to learn about the initiatives taken by Epilepsy Foundation for treating affected patients. Speaking at the occasion Dr. Surya stated, “We are happy to progress and achieve our aim of reaching out to the patients. We are thankful to the people, organizations and neurologists for their valuable contribution.”
The Epilepsy Foundation India has embarked on a new journey of expanding its presence across India and reaching out to affected people across the globe with authentic information, interaction and engagement. The newly designed website of the foundation (www.epilepsyfoundationindia.com) was launched by Mr. Suresh Shetty, the Health Minister of State of Maharashtra. Advocating on the emergence of the cause, Mr. Shetty stated “The Epilepsy Foundation is an unique program run for the cause of Epilepsy in India whereby our government provides completely free medicine and other support to the patient and the Epilepsy Foundation India. We are proud to associate with the foundation and we aim to eliminate the myths surrounding the disease and facilitate treatment to all.”
