Steve Reinecke and Carrie Schmitz to focus on how organizations can effectively integrate technology without compromising clinical workflow
Orlando, FL, Feb 10, 2014
Ergotron, Inc., a Nortek company, today announced that it will be presenting a HIMSS education session to explore ways in which healthcare organizations can integrate technology into their daily workflow without compromising the staff working environment.
“In theory with this cultural upheaval and influx of technological advances within the healthcare environment, both the patient and the caregiver should experience significant gains in overall care experience. In practice however, what is commonly missed or disregarded are the risks and implications for the person sitting in front of the computer monitor,” said Steve Reinecke, MT (CLS), CPHIMS, Assistant Vice President, Ergotron Healthcare. “We want to shed light on simple, ergonomics principles that can help hospitals effectively integrate technology without compromising clinical workflow and clinician health.”
“An ergonomic workplace increases workers’ efficiency and productivity while reducing fatigue, exertion and musculoskeletal disorders,” said Carrie Schmitz, Ergonomic & Wellness Research Manager, Ergotron. “In a healthcare setting it is even more critical because the health and wellness of doctors, nurses and the entire healthcare staff leads directly to improved quality patient care.”
Session Overview: This presentation will offer best practices as to how hospitals can effectively integrate technology into all aspects of the healthcare environment without compromising either the patient or clinicians and staff work experience and health.
