Abu Dhabi, 16 March 2010, Making business listings more convenient for UAE’s iPhone users, Etisalat has now updated its popular Yellow Pages application, launched earlier during Gitex 2009. The application allows iPhone users in the UAE to quickly find the business that they require as well as call, email and browse company listings, from the palm of their hands.
Commenting on the popularity of the service since its launch, Rashid Al Naqbi, General Manager, Etisalat Directory Services, said: “We have had an overwhelming response from our customers to the Etisalat Yellow Pages iPhone app, with over 10,000 downloads so far. It remained one of the most favored applications following the weeks of its upload to the iTunes store, further demonstrating its popularity.
He added, “As usage of mobile internet for browsing and searching for information increases across the UAE, applications such as the Etisalat Yellow Pages for iPhone is rightly set to gain popularity owing to its rich value-added features, over and above the standard ‘search’ services. It is a reflection of our commitment to constantly work with new technologies in order to meet our customers’ ever changing needs.”
This free software has been specifically developed for the iPhone and has been populated with extensive information on local businesses. It features functionality such as maps, extended business listings and ‘History’ search. Users can also share listings with others via SMS or email plus their favourite or most useful listings can be saved for future use.
Etisalat’s Yellow Pages Application for the iPhone allows easy user access to business listings on-the-go, and is available for free download from the iTunes store. This technology aligns itself with the newly launched version of the Etisalat online web site www.yellowpages.ae, which can also be accessed through any browser enabled mobile phone. The application also complements Etisalat’s other Yellow Pages services including printed regional directories covering the entire UAE.
