Eton Institute Rings in the Chinese New Year with a Free Cultural Evening

The Chinese New Year is the most important occasion in Chinese culture. Celebrations are long and lively with fireworks, festive dance parades and traditional feasts.

Eton Institute, UAE’s largest language training center, hosted a free two hour Chinese cultural evening to mark the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Dragon.  The night attracted people from all walks of life, all having one shared interest - Chinese culture and language.
 
UAE residents enjoyed fascinating legends, origins of the Chinese zodiac and ancient tales of wisdom. Attendees took part in a 15 minute language session practicing Chinese, the most commonly spoken language in the world.  Authentic Chinese snacks were served at the event courtesy of Chi’ Zen Chinese Restaurant.
 
Attendees had the thrilling opportunity of watching a T’ai chi, an ancient art, performed by a trained master. The exercise has numerous health benefits and power to calm and harmonize the mind, body and soul. A mini session was held for all to experience and enjoy T’ai chi, first hand.
