EPSO Sets Foundations for Introducing Audio-Video Features as Part of Remote Assessment Centres
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM, 19 FEBRUARY 2014—
The European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) and Prometric, a trusted provider of market-leading test development and delivery solutions, today announced a multi-year framework agreement for the exclusive delivery of new audio-video computer-based testing (CBT) solutions that may be introduced as part of the European Union (EU) Institutions' selection processes.
Under the new four-year agreement, Prometric will deliver exams that may incorporate a mix of animated videos, situational judgment scenarios and audio-visual capture of candidates in Prometric’s testing centre in Brussels.

During this time, EPSO has worked with Prometric to provide reliable and consistent testing services while continuing to transform and evolve to meet the human resources needs of the EU Institutions and has successfully introduced competency-based assessment in all 24 EU languages.

EPSO is responsible for selecting staff to work for the Institutions and Agencies of the European Union including the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, the Court of Justice, the Court of Auditors, the European External Action Service, the Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions, the European Data Protection Supervisor and the European Ombudsman. Each Institution is then able to recruit staff from a pool of candidates selected by EPSO. EPSO was created on 26th July 2002 and became operational as of 1st January 2003.
