Evolution Systems offers IBM i Hosting using aXes Cloud Enabling technology
Sydney, Australia — 11 February 2011 — Evolution Systems, a LANSA and aXes business partner, has extended its data centre and application hosting services with a cloud computing offering for IBM i customers. Shared server infrastructure is commissioned and available to accept customers of the new service.
Organisations can securely access their business applications on IBM i from any location, using any combination of desktops, notebooks, tablets and smartphones.
With this new offering, Evolution’s customers can enjoy hassle-free computing. Responsibility for all facets of server and data centre management is handled by Evolution. Furthermore, Evolution has achieved and can pass on economies of scale by taking advantage of IBM i’s advanced virtualisation technology, PowerVM.
Geoff Boreland, founder and managing director of Evolution Systems, commented: "aXes software from LANSA with attractive subscription-based pricing facilitates the fast and simple provisioning of new customers and additional users. We now offer hosted services with on demand scaling whether up or down."
Gordon Davies, Vice-President LANSA Asia Pacific, said "We welcome Evolution Systems’ formal launch of its Platform as a Service offering for IBM i customers, and wish the Evolution team well as it ramps up its activities in this area”.
To help enable cloud computing initiatives on IBM i, aXes provides a 100% browser experience with zero deployment on the client, secure and firewall friendly access, no reliance on front-end gateways, support for reverse proxy servers, data compression, data encryption and cross-browser support.
