Fall of ground accident at Kusasalethu

Johannesburg: 16 November 2011:Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited (‘Harmony’ or the ‘Company’) regrets to advise that a seismic event at its Kusasalethu mine near Carletonville resulted in a fall of ground, injuring two people and trapping another.
“Our rescue teams have been working since early this morning to find him and will continue with their efforts until he is found”, said Graham Briggs, chief executive officer.
All stoping operations at the mine have been suspended.
