Gartner Inc. Positions SAP as a Leader in Magic Quadrant for Data Warehouse Database Management Systems

SAP NEWSBYTE - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced it has been positioned by Gartner Inc. in the leaders' quadrant of the 2013 "Magic Quadrant for Data Warehouse Database Management Systems" report. SAP is cited as a market leader for both its "completeness of vision" and "ability to execute."

The Gartner report1 included the SAP Sybase IQ server, the SAP HANA platform and SAP's support for logical data warehouse deployment. In 2012, SAP announced and is now delivering on its new data management strategy, called SAP Real-Time Data Platform.

SAP Real-Time Data Platform goes from physical to logical data warehouses and extends beyond the market definition. Based on SAP HANA, which converges transactional and analytical processing within its in-memory database, the platform enables organizations to unlock business value from "big data" more quickly than ever, complete with real-time decision support so that they can act within windows of opportunity as new business scenarios unfold. SAP Real-Time Data Platform includes data management capabilities from SAP HANA, SAP Sybase IQ, SAP Sybase Event Stream Processor, SAP Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise and SAP Sybase SQL Anywhere suite, as well as solutions for enterprise information management (EIM) and data quality to cover the widest possible spectrum of customer needs and use cases.
