The Route 66 Association Italy is proudly sponsoring the “6Six handbike Project", the first complete ride in the Mother Road history on a Hand Bike

Parma, Italy Feb 12, 2009 -- Norberto de Angelis says : “In 1981 I started my sport activity as a football player. In 1986 I was forced to interrupt competitive sport owing to a road accident that impaired my leg. Really unforgettable was the experience during the European Championship played in Helsinki in 1987, coached by stern Jerry Douglas, a great combination of victories and fun. After a road accident in Africa on December 15 1992, I had to quit competitive activity, having become a disabled. In 1999 I was included by FIAF Federation into the Italian HALL OF FAME
Now Norberto is ready for the challenge of his life, riding his special handbike from Chicago to the Pacific Ocean along the Mother Road, more than 2.500 miles across Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona and finally California at the end of July.
This is the “6six project” sponsored by several international companies in Italy and Europe and ready to start at the end of next April.
Don’t miss the chance to join this unique athletic and human event!
We are looking for local and national Radio-Tv stations, newspapers, and magazines, bicyclists associations whishing to give visibility to this extraordinary performance and support Norberto along the Route 66.
You can check the project preparation, his training progress on the dedicated Web Site
