September 2 2010 - Montréal

Ten representatives from Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC) participated in the Pharmaprix 60-kilometre walk to help end women’s cancers. Raising over $22,000, FMC participants exceeded the $20,000 goal they had initially set. This amount was in addition to the FMC’s donation as one of the event’s main sponsors.

Claude Morency, managing partner of FMC’s Montréal office, said: "I would like to congratulate our participants, as well as all of the volunteers and donors who contributed to the success of this major event. We are proud of our strong commitment to help end women’s cancers and continue to support and admire the courageous women who are faced with this disease."

With over 2,200 participants walking across the city and raising over $5.1 million to fund medical research for women’s cancers, the event was a success once again this year.

In Canada, one in every seven women will be diagnosed with a form of women’s cancer. Breast cancer remains the most frequently diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of death.
