SAN MATEO, Calif., November 9, 2009—Fortify Software, the market leader inSoftware Security Assurancesolutions, today announced a major surge in growth during the third quarter of 2009. Led by exceptionally strong performance in Europe, the quarter was marked by a 37 percent increase in revenue from the previous quarter. The company added over 40 new global customers as well as experienced increased adoption from existing customers. With over 600 customers globally, Fortify Software's software security technologies and services are evolving with enterprises' needs and provide effective security practices to protect their business-critical applications.

• 37 percent quarter-to-quarter growth
• Over 40 new customers added in Q3 2009, with significant new names in the financial services and federal markets
• Significant up-sell opportunities among the existing installed base with over half of the quarter's business coming from existing customers
• Greatest number of $250K and above deals signed in the company's history
• Appointment of federal IT veteran, Kelly Collins, as President of Public Sector Operations, to further define Fortify's public sector strategy and expand Fortify's presence in the federal market; Kelly will also lead the company's work in raising awareness for the cyber security risks of vulnerable software in government agencies
