Founder of All Languages, Adele Salvagne, has been named one of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs again.

Profit Magazine named Adele Salvagne one of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs of 2010. Ms. Salvagne was also honoured as a Top Female Entrepreneur in 2009, and is the founder and President of All Languages Ltd.

Ms. Salvagne recognized early on in her career that a large need existed in Canada for reliable translations and interpreting, and not only within the Francophone and Anglophone markets, but the growing ethnic market as well. As a result of this understanding and much determination, All Languages is now one of Canada’s largest providers of multilingual translation and interpreting services.

When the doors at All Languages first opened in Toronto in 1971 translation and interpreting providers were primarily single person operations. Ms. Salvagne’s vision was to grow a company that could provide clients top quality service for numerous markets. Thirty-nine years later, All Languages is providing services to individuals and multinational corporations in over 120 languages, and is certified to ISO 9001 standards. One impressive figure, All Languages as a privately owned company provides regular employment to over 183 individuals, and many more freelance contractors. And although growth was not as rapid during our most recent recession, the company has rebounded back to a solid rate of increase once more. How does an established company continue to grow?

“Globalization has created a vital need for companies of all sizes to express themselves effectively in a greater variety of languages”, says Ms. Salvagne. She goes on to add, “We’ve managed to meet those needs by providing our clients with accuracy, quick turnaround times and competitive pricing. But on top of all this, we offer a number of unique value-added services. For example, through our desktop publishing department, we can provide our clients with finished graphic files in any language. We can populate clients’ websites in the required native languages, while maintaining all programmed coding. And our belief in providing top quality service has motivated us to develop client-specific terminology databases to ensure consistency between translations. “

Ms. Salvagne also understands that it is more than just services her company provides, but it is the service that keeps clients coming back. In order to provide the best service you need the best people. All Languages employs only translators and interpreters with the highest qualifications and credentials. In house staff are equally educated and qualified, and almost as widely ranging in culture and languages spoken. All Languages is more than just an equal opportunity employer, but a company that truly embraces and understands the benefits of multiculturalism and diversity. It is this diverse, dedicated staff that help enable the company to be accredited to world class standards in translations, and top Canadian standards for community interpreting.

There are women who strive to break through glass ceilings. Then there are women like Adele Salvagne who don’t have to worry about the shattered glass. They successfully build their own businesses while working with the best people and adhering to a basic tenet; identify a client need and then meet that need. What separates Ms. Salvagne in the translation and interpreting business is that she’s done that better than anyone else.
