Frank Gonzalez, CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and partner in charge of the Financial Institutions practice of the nationally recognized public accounting firm Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLP (MBAF), recently spoke at the National Mortgage News Conference “Buying & Selling Distressed Mortgage Portfolios - Commercial & Residential.” The Conference, held June 10-11 in New York City, aimed to provide critical market intelligence to help sellers and buyers to succeed in this unprecedented market of distressed debt.

Gonzalez’s presentation, titled “Transfers/Sales of Loans, Including Transfers of Loans with Credit Deterioration, and Related Accounting,” was presented during the Residential Sessions track “Pandora’s Box: What are the Issues When a PSA, a Trust, or other Investors are Involved?” on June 11th. His presentation focused on the transfer of portions of financial assets, secured borrowing, transfer of financial asset accounting, required disclosures, and loans and debt securities acquired with deteriorated credit quality.
