Frost & Sullivan Hails Actelis Networks With Prestigious 2011 North American Market Share Leadership Award for EFM Over CopperAc
FREMONT, Calif., June 13, 2011 -
Actelis Networks®, the leading global supplier ofEthernet over copper solutionsthat is accelerating everything for North American service providers, today announced thatFrost & Sullivanhas recognized Actelis Networks with the 2011 Market Share Leadership Award for Ethernet in the First Mile over Copper (EFMC) in North America. The Market Share Leadership Award is a prestigious recognition of Actelis Networks’ accomplishments in Ethernet over Copper and its ability to increase market leadership position by enabling carriers’ delivery of wide-scale Ethernet services. Frost & Sullivan firmly believes that Actelis Networks’ key performance drivers are its simultaneous focus on a diverse and growing customer base, global reach andinnovative technologies. This innovation includes the company’s patentedDRB technology, which cost effectively enables service providers to more than double the coverage area of Ethernet services.
Frost & Sullivan expects continued growth in the EFMC market to be driven by business-class services, including T1 and E1 line replacement as well asDSLAMandmobile backhaul, according to Prayerna Raina, research analyst at Frost & Sullivan.
“Actelis Networks, with patented technologies such as DRB, has been able to increase its market leadership by addressing the critical requirements of these applications: greater rate and reach at lower cost. Delivering higher bandwidth on existing copper infrastructure provides a realistic solution that meets the immediate bandwidth needs for backhaul and first-miles services. Actelis’ DRB improves performance of existing copper infrastructure, delivering higher bandwidth at greater distances immediately and cost effectively. This eliminates the need for billions of dollars in CapEx to build costly fiber networks,” commented Raina.
In 2010, Actelis Networks announced several customer wins, which can be attributed to the superior performance of itsproductsand their ability to deliver an alternative to legacy services over existing copper infrastructure at a much lower cost. In addition to winning new customers, Actelis’ existing customers continue to increase the scale of their EFMC deployments.
“Actelis’ leadership in Ethernet over copper is a result of the combination of our innovative solutions andworld-class customer support,” said Eric Vallone, vice president of marketing at Actelis. “The significant advances of Actelis’ DRB technology are an important milestone in providing our customers with the ability to continue to leverage their existing infrastructure to meet market demand immediately and cost effectively. Additionally, DRB enables network operators to easily and economically expand their bandwidth offering to extend service coverage further into their customer serving areas, which is paramount for delivering broadband services to underserved and unserved customers. On behalf of everyone at Actelis, I am very pleased to accept this award from Frost & Sullivan.”
