APEX, N.C. – Jack Spain, senior consultant with Fuentek, LLC, spoke at the 2008 Digital Game Expo (www.dgxpo.com) held on June 20-21 at Wake Technical Community College’s main campus in Raleigh. The expo featured presentations from industry professionals, a student showcase, career fair, costume contest, tournament and a giant Lego display. Spain discussed NASA’s plan for a massively multiplayer online (MMO) educational game to promote science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning, and he held a question-and-answer session after the presentation about the NASA initiative.

Spain serves as Fuentek’s client lead for the NASA Kennedy Space Center, NASA Ames Research Center, NASA Dryden Flight Research Center and University of Illinois, and he is a member of the NASA MMO project team based at Goddard Space Flight Center. “I am pleased that Jack was able to discuss NASA’s initiative at the 2008 Digital Game Expo,” said Schoppe. “It was a great opportunity for local game developers to learn about NASA’s plan to create an MMO game to stimulate interest in STEM learning and how they can be a part of the program.”
