Buganda Province has joined Bukedi, Busoga and West Nile in the last four of The FUFA Drum 2018 after eliminating Kampala Province on Sunday 8th July at Mutesa II Stadium Wankulukuku.

It took only 14 minutes for Buganda to open up the scoring through Onduparaka FC striker Vianne Ssekajugo whose first short on target was accurate enough to beat Express FC and Kampala goalkeeper Godwin Bbule.

Kampala and SC Villa’s Martin Kizza had a decent effortt in the 20th minute following excellent exchange of passes with Allan Kyambadde but his effort was saved by Onduparaka FC and Buganda goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato.

Bright Stars FC and Kampala striker Nelson Senkatuka came close to getting the leveller in the 30th minute but his decent strike flew inches off the mark from the left side.

Despite having a very big task to come back from a 0-2 aggregate, Kampala returned from the half time break with strong determination that increased the tempo of the game which forced Buganda’s Coach Alex Isabirye Musongola to opt for a defensive tactical plan.

Musongola substituted Soana FC forward Baker Buyala for Maroons Solomon Walusimbi.

Buganda’s defense was put under pressure by the attacking force of Kampala’s Erisa Sekisambu, Senkatuka, Godfrey Lwesibawa and Kizza but failed to hit the destination target not until substitute player Willy Kavuma scored an equaliser for the home side in the 71st minute.

The match ended 1-1 and Buganda progressed to the last four of The FUFA Drum with an aggregate of 1-2.

Buganda’s Ssekajugo was named Man of the Match and received his prize money and the accolade.
