The following is a statement from Dan Henkle, SVP, Global Responsibility, Gap Inc. on the passing of Neil Kearney Thursday, November 19, 2009.
“Workers around the world lost a true friend and tireless champion this week with Neil Kearney’s unexpected passing. Like so many others, I’m shocked and saddened by this news. Neil’s vision, passion and dedication distinguished him as a giant in the global community working to improve workers’ lives. As head of Gap Inc.’s social responsibility department, I’ve had the privilege of working with Neil on many initiatives, and I will always remember him as someone who never lost sight of the bigger picture: the individual women and men that our collective efforts aim to help. The thoughts, prayers and gratitude of the Gap Inc. community go out to Neil’s wife Jutta and his two daughters, Nicole and Caroline.”
