Trusted Network Environment (TNE) version 10 enhances cyber-secure information sharing for government, military and intelligence community users

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. –The Unified Cross Domain Management Office (UCDMO) has approved the latest version of General Dynamics C4 Systems’ Trusted Network Environment (TNE) suite of cross-domain, information-sharing software tools for use by U.S. government organizations. The upgraded version, TNE® 10, is now available for customers that include the U.S. Department of Defense and intelligence communities, as well as international users. Among the upgrades, TNE 10 delivers the familiar Microsoft® Office® suite of software tools for more user-friendly and intuitive operation as well as transitions users from the Solaris® 8 to the Solaris® 10 operating system.

TNE is currently the only product approved by UCDMO that enables users to see email and files at various security levels within a single application. The product’s security capabilities meet or exceed strict federal government standards for processing the most-sensitive classified information. By using data-labeling technology to separate classified and unclassified data, users see only what their individual security profiles allow, without awareness of or visibility into other data files, applications or users on the enterprise.

Based on the user’s profile, TNE 10 accesses, creates, combines and exchanges various levels of classified information, including e-mail, without having to physically move from one secure networked computer system to another. TNE offers a simple, Microsoft Windows®-like environment, with familiar navigation and mouse-click access to data files and applications.

TNE 10 provides the computing capabilities currently available on existing TNE systems as well as operational upgrades including:

• Built-in “Privilege and Audit Manager” security controls that automatically identify users and their unique access rights;

• Trusted re-grade services enabling the transfer of data between secure networks;

• Thin-client access;

• Multi-level-secure web servers which permit users to see only the information via the web that suits their security level; and

• Multi-level chat, permitting individuals on different networks at different security levels to share the same chat-room.

In addition to U.S. military and government users, TNE 10 is available to international government partners and industry, including financial institutions and public utilities that operate secure computing enterprise networks.
