World-Class Production Studio Takes Canadian Musician, Trevor Dick, To A New Level: The recent project, Yahweh, by Canadian musician Trevor Dick has received generous endorsements, industry acclaim and accolades.

(Guelph, ON) The recent project, Yahweh, by Canadian musician Trevor Dick has received generous endorsements, industry acclaim and accolades.

Yahweh has received nominations in 5 categories for the GMA Canada Covenant Awards: Instrumental Album of the Year, Jazz/Blues Song of the Year (The Path), Instrumental Song of the Year (Passion), Classical - Traditional Song of the Year (Interlude - The Calling), and CD/DVD Artwork Design of the Year.

Inspired by Exodus 3:13-15*, Yahweh (620673332927, 12 song album) is a fresh instrumental collection of timeless-old and new songs of faith mixed with some original compositions portraying the indescribable, eternal, self-existent, “I Am” character of God. It is an instrumental Worship CD featuring the unique 5-string electric violin, acoustic violins, and a dynamic live band production: a fresh Canadian fusion of pop, urban, jazz, world beat rhythms with expansive sound track styling.

World-Class Production
One of the ingredients behind the acclaim is the heightened production and recording quality. Recorded live at the world-class Phase One Recording Studios in Toronto and engineered by Richard Cleaver, “We had the great honour of working with chief engineer, George Seara, whose recent clients include Anne Murray, Loreena McKennitt, Rihanna, Holly Cole, Sting, Herbie Hancock, and Finger Eleven” commented Trevor. “We more than met our goals. I am very pleased with the results so far – a beautiful, warm, sound and excellent playing from each band member.” Recording artist, Mike Janzen, agrees, “The album sounds really great...refreshingly tight and well-produced.”

Five nominations for an instrumental album is commendable and Trevor attributes the nominations to the Flyingbow ministry team effort: album nomination (The Fifth String Blvd. Band), jazz/blues nomination (Brad Toews/Trevor Dick), classical and instrumental nomination (Trevor), artwork nomination (Tina Newlove).

Commissioned Art Work
The Yahweh album cover is from a commissioned painting by award-winning artist Newlove, who painted while listening to early cuts of the album. Showing circles of life, figures of people, and light to make the paint very modern and accessible which reflects the contemporary musical fusion of the album. “It is fairly unique to have a commissioned artist album cover like this for such a project,” comments Trevor.

During the live concert production, the Yahweh musical themes come alive with creative set design, lighting and media using thought provoking visuals such as video, graphics and photography. Original "live" painting, creative text and other artistic elements further draw the audience in to worship God with their whole being.

“Trevor’s newest CD Yahweh inspires the soul and encourages the heart. I find myself lost in the spirit of the music as it refreshes me,” comments Barry Slauenwhite, Compassion Canada.

Twelve dynamic arrangements have been designed to draw the listener in to a face to face God-encounter with such classics as: “Fairest Lord Jesus”, “My Jesus, I Love Thee” and “Praise To The Lord The Almighty.” The CD also includes a mysterious, moving, rendition of “Holy, Holy, Holy” a celebrative jazz, funk version of “Come Thou Fount” and a powerful pop, rock anthem of “Everlasting God.” Tribal, world-beat rhythms drive “In Christ Alone” and the title track U2 cover song, “Yahweh.” Three new compositions: “The Call,” “Passion,” and “The Path” debut on the album to describe our spiritual journey with God. The worship package ends with an expansive, stirring “movie-soundtrack” rendition of “Jesus Loves Me” in "This I Know."

The Power of Instrumental Music
The unique value of instrumental music in the context of worship is akin to David and his harp where Trevor has witnessed a lifting of oppression, releasing burdens, and preparing people’s hearts for preaching and other spiritual nurturing. In his international performances, Trevor has noted that instrumental music effectively crosses boundaries and reaches the soul level whereas lyrics can sometimes be a hindrance.

“We get regular requests for our recordings to be used in the context of the church worship services during seasonal and special event services such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, baptisms and Easter”, says Trevor. Good quality, fresh, Christian instrumental music is sought-after today to fit these important roles: to play in the background and help set the tone of these special church services or to supplement audio-visuals.
