Glenorchy City Council are the Keep Australia Beautiful Tasmania, Sustainable Cities overall title holders for 2014 which now makes them a finalist for the Australian Sustainable Cities Awards. The National awards will be held in November, hosted by last year’s winners, the City of Marion, South Australia.
Glenorchy City Council will be visited by Australian Sustainable Cities judge Cameron Little in the coming weeks, to compare them to finalists from all over the country.
Mr Little said, “To be recognised on a national stage is quite the achievement for Glenorchy City Council. I can’t wait to see their winning projects first hand.”
The Australian Sustainable Cities Awards encourage, motivate and celebrate the local sustainability achievements of urban communities across Australia, and have been running since 2007.
National Sustainable Cities finalists already announced include:

City of Brimbank, Victoria
City of Palmerston, Northern Territory

South Australia (announced 28 August)
