"IHS was chosen because we have an unparalleled record of success delivering the capabilities that Repsol requires for enterprise-wide, multi-media environmental reporting while also establishing the foundation for a comprehensive Enterprise Sustainability Management information strategy,"
IHS (NYSE: IHS), the leading global source of information and analytics, announced today that Repsol, a global energy company currently ranked as number 90 on the Fortune Global 500, has selected the IHS Environmental Performance Solution™ to manage its air, water and waste emissions reporting information.
"IHS was chosen because we have an unparalleled record of success delivering the capabilities that Repsol requires for enterprise-wide, multi-media environmental reporting while also establishing the foundation for a comprehensive Enterprise Sustainability Management information strategy," said IHS Vice President of EHS and Sustainability Solutions Scott Lockhart.
"We were looking for an industry leader with proven experience providing global environmental, health and safety (EHS) management information systems in the energy sector," said Repsol Director of Safety and Environment Jaime Martín Juez. "With IHS, we will be able to achieve our goal of streamlining environmental monitoring workflows throughout our operations while also ensuring that we meet all of our reporting responsibilities."
Repsol selected the IHS Environmental Performance Solution powered by IHS Essential Suite® software. This enterprise-level system will enable Repsol managers to efficiently track a broad spectrum of water, waste and air emissions (including greenhouse gases), as well as generating regulatory and voluntary sustainability reports that meet the requirements of the company's internal and external stakeholders.
The new IHS solution will collect and aggregate vast quantities of complex environmental process data from the bottom up, in near real time, to help Repsol decision makers drive operational excellence and achieve their business goals. IHS software will support key environmental management work processes, including high-frequency emissions data calculations that are required to address the full scope of Repsol's nonfinancial sustainability performance reporting obligations.
More than 75 percent of the world's 20 largest energy companies rely upon IHS to provide best-of-breed software, information content and domain/industry expertise to facilitate compliance and sustainability reporting for environmental performance, product stewardship, operational risk management, health and safety, energy and carbon, and corporate responsibility.
