Everyone knows that Italy has a great culinary tradition and food culture - it is, after all, what makes the country famous world-wide. This is one of the reasons the Barilla Group and SDA Bocconi have launched a competition where you can win the chance to attend the Bocconi’s Master of Management in Food and Beverages for free.
Milan, Italy, May 29, 2014 - (PressReleasePoint)
The Master of Management in Food and Beverages is an English-taught, full time program which will take place over the course of one year and which is aimed to students from all over the world. Its main focus is the management of food and beverages businesses such as hotels, restaurants, chain and luxury retailers, and resorts and it offers both an effective and an innovative perspective on this business sector. Furthermore, with its multidisciplinary approach and experiential method, this course mixes traditional lectures with practical case study analysis and with more engaging group exercises, role-playing, simulations, and both team and individual projects. This is, therefore, the perfect course for those who wish to engage in the food and hospitality field.
But it is the competition launched by the Barilla group that makes this edition of the program so special. Aimed at university students and researchers, and young businessmen, this contest calls for new and innovative ideas regarding a more sustainable journey of food from producer to consumer and regarding the promotion of wellbeing and development through food. There are four categories you can participate in: "Good4 our Wellbeing", centered on nutrition and food safety; "Good4 our Planet", centered on the environment and on supply chains; "Good4 our Communities", centered on social inclusion of different peoples; and "Good4 our Knowledge", centered on the promotion and communication of the cultural value of food.
It is this latter category which is so important to SDA Bocconi. The Business School, in fact, in collaboration with the Barilla group and with the incubator Speed MI Up, has decided to award a tuition waiver to the three best projects presented in the "Good4 our Knowledge" category of the competition. Furthermore, winners will also receive a financial contribution of 15,000 euro to fund the realization phase of their project.
Participants must present innovative ideas and projects focused on an aspect of the food culture which makes quality and sustainability its focus. The competition is open to all those under the age of 30 who have been admitted to the Master of Management in Food and Beverages 2015 edition. All projects must be uploaded in English on the website of the "Good4" competition by October 15th and they must consist of a description of the project and a business plan for it, while a video presentation is optional.
(Applications for the Master of Management in Food and Beverages must also be sent by October 15th to SDA Bocconi). Provided they are admitted to the program, the winners of the competition will be notified by December 15th, 2015.
