Gordmans Expands in Indiana with New Store in Schererville

Guests will discover an incredible selection of today’s latest brands, fashions and styles in apparel and home décor, big savings of up to 60% off department and specialty store prices and outstanding guest service. The 50,000-square-foot Gordmans will open Thursday at 9 a.m. at Shops on Main, 101 U.S. Highway 41, at the corner of Indianapolis Boulevard and Main Street. “We are excited to expand in Indiana with our newest store in Schererville. Our mission is to delight guests with big savings, big selection and fun, friendly associates,” said Jeff Gordman, president and CEO. “There’s something for everyone at Gordmans. We offer compelling value with our name brand merchandise for the entire family and invite Schererville citizens to visit the new store and enjoy our unique shopping environment. It’s well-organized, infused with fun and entertainment, and features outstanding service. We want guests to feel welcome when they enter Gordmans and know that we sincerely appreciate that they have chosen to shop with us.”The new store’s Grand Opening festivities will take place March 28-30. Guests will enjoy a great selection of apparel, home décor and accessories as well as special promotions like drawings for gift cards worth $25, $50 and $100. They also will discover that Gordmans is an easy-to-shop store that features Gordmans Giggles children’s theater and Gordmans Grandstand, a sports-themed television viewing area. Grand Opening activities begin Friday, March 28 with a 9 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony. Geoff Ayoub, Gordmans’ senior vice president of planning, allocation and analysis, will present a check for $2,500 to Lake Central School District to launch the retailer’s Partners in Education fundraising events. Partners in Education is a program through which businesses make additional educational resources available to local public school systems. Gordmans’ guests may join in by purchasing “helping hands” for $1 each. Every dollar raised will directly benefit Lake Central School District. Since its involvement with Partners in Education, which began in 2000, Gordmans has contributed more than $1 million to public school systems in markets where Gordmans has stores. The new Gordmans store has selected Homan Elementary School as its partner school. “Through Partners in Education, we’re able to make a difference in the lives of many area schoolchildren,” said Gordman. “The collaboration is also a great volunteer opportunity for our associates, and it reinforces our commitment to giving back to the communities where our stores are located.” Gordmans is among the fastest expanding retailers in the country, operating 95 stores in 55 markets and 20 states. Including the new Schererville store, the retailer will open seven stores in 2014 totaling approximately 400,000 square feet in new and existing markets.
